What to Expect

The treatment takes between 15 and 60 minutes depending on the area(s) to be treated.

• At our Med Spa in Rancho Mirage laser hair removal is usually performed without anesthetic. However, a topical numbing cream can be provided if you need to. Eye shields are also provided for protection.
• Once the practitioner has looked at the area to be treated, she will apply a cooling gel that works as a conductor for the laser.
• The practitioner will guide the hand-piece over the area to be treated. You may feel minimal pain like that of a prickling sensation or a bit of heat during your treatment.
• If necessary, a cooling serum is applied after your treatment.
• Post-treatment guidelines will be provided to you. You should avoid any sun exposure to the treated area until all redness has disappeared. If you are in the sun, make sure to use a sunscreen with SPF of 50 or higher.

Results

Results of a laser hair removal treatment will be noticeable over several weeks after each treatment. We recommend a series of treatments for maximum results. Most of our patients experience long-term hair loss after four to six treatments scheduled between four to six week intervals.
