What to Expect

The treatment will take between 15 and 60 minutes depending on the size and number of veins to be treated.

• Once the treated area is cleaned with alcohol, the practitioner will use a very small needle to inject the sclerosing agent into your veins. There might be a mild stinging as the solution is injected.
• As the solution takes effect, it causes the targeted vein to shut down.
• Over the next few weeks, the deactivated blood vessel will be absorbed into your body and disappear.
• After the treatment, the practitioner will massage the treated area to disperse the solution and get you to stand up and walk around. It may be necessary for you to wear a compression garment for a week after your treatment.
• There is little to no downtime and you can return to your daily activities immediately after your treatment.

Results

Smaller spider veins can take between three to six weeks to disappear while larger veins take three to four months. You can expect 50%-80% to disappear with each session.
